Description Wortley Hall has 15 acres of formal Italianate gardens surrounded by 11 acres of informal pleasure grounds, a delight at any time of year. A broad terrace, surrounded by shrub roses, overlooks the hollow garden which is planted up with a collection of dwarf rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias and Agapanthus. Clipped Yew hedges, stone balustrades, a fish pond and arbours all add to the formal elegance. Spring finds Wortley Hall at its best with huge clumps of snowdrops followed later by drifts of daffodils and a haze of bluebells under the trees. £2.50pp. Meet outside reception door at 2pm
